SEND

At King Ethelbert School, In-clusion is all students accessing learning and school life.

For students to be successful, they need to feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. We strive to make our classrooms places where students do feel safe and supported, because this is where the best learning happens.

Our vision for students with either a special educational need or additional/complex need is for them to receive in-class provision as much as possible. Through our continued focus on high-quality universal provision, as well as strong working relationships with students and families, we ensure that everyone can access their learning—both in lessons and through enrichment activities.

Where a student requires targeted support, we use the “assess-plan-do-review” cycle alongside our trained staff to establish clear intervention targets. This targeted approach breaks down barriers to learning and school life, ensuring any support is highly impactful while minimising time spent away from the classroom. Outcomes are demonstrating the positive impact of this strategy.
