International Women's Day - words from Miss McCracken

“A strong woman understands that the gifts such as logic, decisiveness, and strength are just as feminine as intuition and emotional connection. She values and uses all of her gifts.” Nancy Rathburn

International Women’s Day aims to globally recognise women’s achievements in all areas - social, economic, cultural and political. Across the world, those who push the boundaries of what seems possible, campaign for women’s rights, and fight gender bias, are celebrated and honoured.

This year, the focus is on gender equality and empowerment, in the understanding that a fairer world, one which creates opportunities to enable everyone to reach their full potential, is a better world. Imagine that world.

In a world that is redefining what it means to be a strong woman, King Ethelbert School celebrates the wealth of strong female role models nationally and internationally, and encourages all of our girls to recognise their own potential and value, and to go further, and aim higher, than they believe they can.
