We have had a wonderful week this Reading Week, with this year’s theme being “Stories From Other Countries”. A number of events have been happening at lunchtimes and during the school day, and special lessons with an international story theme have been enjoyed by pupils in various lessons across the curriculum.
Here are some of our events and competition winners:
Monday:
All of year 9 enjoyed watching the film The Book Thief, which has complemented their learning about World War 2 and The Holocaust.

Tuesday:
Origami workshop — the results were beautiful!
Wednesday:
Year 9 dramatic storytellers group performance — The Battle of Song — a tale of magic and power from Finland
Thursday:
Dress up as a character from a book from another country. Winners: Ewan Tyler and Gemma Southwood (7JS) and Christina Zalewski (8CC). Staff winner: Mrs. O’Shea.
