On Friday 20th March, 15 students from Yr 8 were fortunate enough to spend the morning at the Discovery Park, Sandwich for The Big Bang event organised by Kent & Medway Stem. With their maths hats on, students were able to get involved in lots of different activities and demonstrations that showed the practical appliance of science and maths in a variety of different ways, both now and in the future. Amongst other things, our students were able to explore the maths of juggling and wave motion, try their hand at forensics and 3D printing, and watch a fascinating lecture on air, water and fire with real life experiments, chemicals and big bangs!
